HEMA: Hygiene solutions for sensitive industries
The specialist for machine protection is venturing into a new segment: SANITATION
With a new product range for the sanitation of clothing and equipment as well as a system for hygiene in ice production, HEMA is tackling germs.
For 45 years, HEMA has been known as a specialist in machine protection systems with a broad portfolio of protection, clamping, braking, and visibility systems. With the SANITATION product range, the company is now positioning itself in another market segment and offers solutions for areas with special hygiene requirements – from food manufacturing and retail to catering services.
In hygiene-sensitive industries, not only must the production and presentation facilities for food be regularly cleaned, but also the equipment and staff clothing. For this, HEMA offers highly effective sanitation systems, for example for workwear, rubber boots, or kitchen equipment such as knives and cutting boards. These use UV-C light and/or plasma ion technology, two effective methods that remove germs, viruses, and bacteria without any side effects.
They are manufactured by the South Korean specialist Sunkyung, which has established a reputation in Southeast Asia over the past 30 years as an expert in UV sterilization. HEMA now exclusively distributes Sunkyung's products in the DACH region.
Pure ice for food cooling
For ice manufacturers, HEMA offers a special solution. The Clean-Ice system is installed directly in the water supply line to the ice machine and not only cleans the water but also the entire system using ozone (O3). Ozone is enriched oxygen and a natural, highly effective disinfectant approved for food hygiene. Due to its high oxidation potential, ozone effectively destroys germs. It then decomposes back into simple oxygen.
Using ozonized water, the Clean-Ice system eliminates 99.99% of germs and bacteria in ice machines and guarantees absolutely gentle sanitation. No chemicals are used for the production or breakdown of ozone.
HEMA has already successfully introduced its new hygiene products at the Anuga FoodTec trade fair in spring. The international trade audience showed great interest in the hygiene solutions, which are now also available through HEMA's distribution channels.
