Digital product file – comprehensive service via smartphone

The Schmalz ControlRoom App now features a new function with the digital product file, bringing transparency to manual handling. To do this, Schmalz equips its vacuum lifters and crane systems with identification tags that can be read via QR code or NFC technology (Near Field Communication) with a smartphone. Users gain immediate access to device-specific information as well as relevant service and contact details.

Questions about device and spare part numbers, user manuals, or the next service appointment can now be answered almost instantly by users of vacuum lifting devices VacuMaster, vacuum hose lifters Jumbo, crane systems, and chain hoists. Because J. Schmalz GmbH now equips all manual handling devices with identification tags. When the user scans these with their smartphone, the digital product file appears in the Schmalz ControlRoom App. Inside, the user finds a profile of the device with all important product information, such as the article number. The tags are either located directly on the control element or – in the case of crane systems and chain hoists – near the main switch.

With the comprehensive information, questions about operation are answered just as quickly as those about upcoming service interventions. The basic information mentioned is accessible without registration, but the one-time effort to register is definitely worthwhile: the display of individual system components or the listing of all other Schmalz vacuum handling systems in use within the respective company are only visible to registered users. Likewise, after registration, user manuals and spare parts lists are available, as well as the display of the next due service appointment. Also available are contact details for the responsible technical advisor and the Schmalz service team.

The new functions are already implemented in the ControlRoom App. New devices are delivered with the tag. The Schmalz app is available for Android device users in the Google Play Store. iOS smartphone users can download the app via the Apple Store. In general, the use of the app and the digital product file is free of charge.
