In the food industry, production facilities must be designed according to hygiene standards. The requirements vary greatly depending on the hygiene zone, from food, spray, to packaging and non-food areas. At the international leading trade fair for the meat industry, IFFA (May 4-9, 2019) in Frankfurt, Rittal presents suitable system solutions for all application cases for control cabinet, power distribution, and climate control technology – up to solutions for efficient engineering. Among the exhibition highlights is the new stainless steel portfolio of the small and compact enclosure series AX and KX, as well as the VX25 control cabinet system.

Production facilities in the food industry must be as easy to clean as possible while also being as well (process-safe) as possible. The fundamental requirement is a design that is easy to clean and maintenance-friendly for machines and systems. To enable this, Rittal offers suitable enclosure and control cabinet systems for each hygiene zone.

Thus, Rittal presents its comprehensive "Hygienic Design" program of enclosures, control cabinets, and climate control systems made of stainless steel for hygienically sensitive areas where regular cleaning is necessary. Additionally, the company introduces the brand-new stainless steel portfolio of its small and compact enclosures AX and KX (available from autumn 2019) as well as its VX25 control cabinet system.

Highest corrosion protection

To meet the highest requirements for corrosion resistance, for example, the new large cabinet system VX25 is now available entirely in stainless steel. In addition to the frame structure, doors, flat parts, and base plate, all external parts such as 180° hinges and comfort handle variants are also made of stainless steel.

If the cabinet type standardly features protection class IP 55 and protection class NEMA 12, the optional NEMA 4X version with the corresponding protection class IP 66 offers increased protection. This ensures that electrical and electronic components in the VX25 are protected against dust, splashing, and spray water even under demanding conditions.

If VX25 stainless steel cabinets are to be equipped for use in the food industry with energy-efficient cooling technology, plant builders now also have access to the new Blue e+ cooling units made of stainless steel.

Seamless digital engineering

With the new enclosure and control cabinet systems AK, KX, and VX25, plant builders are ideally prepared for digitalization. The enclosures come with digital hardware and thus integrate perfectly into the digital value chain of control and switching system manufacturing. In addition to high-quality 3D data and configuration tools, QR codes on all flat parts facilitate their integration into the production workflow. This enables modern digital monitoring from goods receipt to completion.

From control cabinet manufacturers to machine builders to end customers, up-to-date data is always available for quick spare part orders, cost-effective retrofitting projects, or simple planning for system expansions.
