Arburg is rated "1A excellent training company"

At a ceremony at Arburg in Lossburg on June 11, 2014, Martin Keppler, CEO of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Nordschwarzwald, awarded the "Top-Rated Training Company" certificate to Renate Keinath, who is responsible for Human Resources and Social Services as managing partner. This new IHK quality seal recognizes regional companies that go far beyond legal requirements to promote young talent. It expands the list of awards Arburg has received over more than 60 years for its outstanding training activities.

Martin Keppler, CEO of IHK Nordschwarzwald, emphasized in his speech during the presentation: "We have been passionately promoting the topic of training together with Arburg for years. This family-owned company is a showcase enterprise in the region. With the new certificate 'Top-Rated Training Company,' we want to give high-performing companies that make significant efforts in this area the opportunity to stand out. The core issue in this context is securing skilled workers in the region. The new quality seal is intended to be a building block for this."

In this context, Martin Keppler also highlighted voluntary work and especially thanked Harald Gnegel from Arburg's Training and Continuing Education department for his commitment: "The IHK has a total of 1,500 voluntary examiners for 120 professions – including Manfred Schmid and Hans-Joachim Schlotterbeck. Harald Gnegel is even chairman of the Vocational Training Committee. Without this voluntary support from companies, we would not be able to manage the considerable effort our institution invests in this sector to ensure high-quality vocational training."

Broad engagement ensures strong loyalty to Arburg

In her thank-you speech, managing partner Renate Keinath emphasized that this certificate not only recognizes training at Arburg but also the entire training team. "This, among other things, lays the groundwork for our apprentices to engage actively and look beyond their immediate tasks to sharpen their social skills. Our collaborations with the IHK, schools, and kindergartens have supported us in recruiting qualified personnel. We are pleased about that. Our goal is to attract young people from the region, inspire them, and retain them in our company long-term."

Performance catalog combines various criteria

Arburg received the IHK quality seal based on a meaningful mix of various activities. The performance catalog for this award considers criteria such as "Personnel Development and Career Planning," "Qualified Employees in Training," "Training Support," "Voluntary and Social Engagement," "Health and Work," "Leisure and Work," and "Financial Support." Among these categories, particular recognition was given to Arburg's general aim to take on all apprentices and the training team's opportunity for comprehensive further training and qualification. Additionally, the company boasts above-average exam results – about two-thirds of an apprenticeship cohort at Arburg achieve a good grade or better – and supports schools and young people in career exploration through several educational partnerships in Lossburg, Dornhan, and Freudenstadt. Company health and leisure initiatives were also factors considered in the award, including measures in the "Health All-round" program. These include various courses, running groups, as well as Arburg football and running championships. Employees are also financially supported through various allowances for meals, travel expenses, work clothing, and certain vocational school visits.
