Microclimate for fresh herbs
Herbs CZ uses EFAFLEX doors to preserve the microclimate in greenhouses
In Znojmo, one of the most modern greenhouse houses in Europe is located. There, fragrant herbs grow, which are brought to the tables of customers in pots or freshly cut. Their journey into households and gastronomic establishments begins when they leave the buildings through EFAFLEX doors, which help maintain a specific microclimate.
In the large glazed areas, there is a scent of fresh herbs. The small green plants are lined up side by side as far as the eye can see, and a fine mist hangs in the air. "The main requirements for the doors in our greenhouse houses were durability and reliability," reports Václav Bajko from the Technical Department of Bylinky CZ, as he walks through the corridors. "EFAFLEX rapid-action doors have best met these requirements. And this applies both in the germination room, where the humidity is very high, and in other areas of our operation."
The special construction guarantees that the doors are water-repellent and easy to clean. Additionally, all metal parts are made of stainless steel and thus highly resistant to damage from water, moisture, or cleaning agents. This increases their lifespan and reliability, even in environments with very high humidity.
Reliable doors for humid environments
In the greenhouse houses, a total of five EFAFLEX doors are installed, including three EFA-SRT® ECO roller doors with PVC curtains for indoor use, one EFA-SST® Essential, and one EFA-SRT® EC with stainless steel frames for the food area. The latter is located in the germination room, where the humidity is highest and the plants are directly in the water mist.
"The decision to choose the EFA-SRT® EC with stainless steel frames for this area was obvious. Thanks to their special construction and stainless steel parts, these doors are easy to clean and function flawlessly even under extreme conditions," describes Pavel Jurčíka, EFAFLEX CZ, highlighting the particular advantage.
Self-sufficient through sustainable production: Company information Bylinky CZ
Bylinky CZ was founded in 2011 as a subsidiary of the Swedish family business SPISA Group. Since the 1980s, the SPISA Group has been on the market and has developed into the largest European producer of fresh herbs in less than 40 years. In addition to Czechia, SPISA grows and processes fresh herbs in Sweden, the United Kingdom, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Kenya.
The greenhouses of Bylinky are operated sustainably. Filtered rainwater is used for irrigation, collected in a reservoir with a capacity of 2,500 m3. Additionally, a biogas plant supplies the greenhouses with electricity and heat. Excess electricity produced is fed into the grid. The energy is generated from natural fertilizers and plants, such as corn. Part of the cultivated plants is also used to produce feed mixtures for livestock.
