"The prototype of our hot steam dishwasher has undergone numerous tests since the start of development and is now ready to conquer the market for commercial dishwashers," says Fritz Pattis, Managing Director of Medeco Cleantec GmbH. Together with the engineering experts from Herion Engineering in Bavaria, he has realized his idea of a Green Cleaning dishwasher and has also gained the Technical Universities of Munich and Dortmund as cooperation partners. "Just as with the use of very hot and very dry steam for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, the use of micro dry steam in dishwashers is a real game changer," explains Fritz Pattis. "Normal dishwashers use both salt and rinse aids, but temperatures of up to 70°C are not necessarily sufficient to eliminate various harmful bacteria. Hot steam, on the other hand, reaches up to 180°C, cleaning more thoroughly, faster, and thus more efficiently." At the same time, the high temperature ensures that even heat-resistant bacteria can be killed within seconds, which is a significant advantage especially for use in healthcare and the hospitality industry.
Less chemicals – lower costs
In addition to aspects of cleanliness and hygiene, the hot steam variant also offers significant advantages in terms of sustainability, health, and budget. "The use of micro dry steam makes the use of chemical cleaning agents unnecessary and reduces water and energy consumption. This makes a substantial contribution to environmental protection while also saving a considerable cost item. Moreover, avoiding chemicals benefits staff, guests, or patients, as every cleaning agent leaves residues on plates, glasses, or cutlery," explains Fritz Pattis.
Ideal for large kitchens and healthcare facilities
The Green Cleaning Concept from Medeco is increasingly replacing conventional cleaning procedures, especially in the hotel and restaurant industry, as well as in healthcare, and contributes to a standard of cleanliness without compromises, which could be further enhanced by the use of a Green Cleaning dishwasher. "For large kitchens of hotels or restaurants, as well as hospitals or care facilities, dishwashing with micro dry steam would be ideal. Not only because it is faster and more cost-effective, but above all because it achieves hygienically optimal results. Without chemical residues, which can sometimes affect the taste of served dishes or serve as a breeding ground for germs," emphasizes Fritz Pattis. Next, the inventor of the Green Cleaning Concept plans to find suitable industrial partners to bring the chemical-free dishwasher to market.
