Founded in 1894 as a mechanical workshop in Furtwangen in the Black Forest, Ganter presented the first catalog of standard elements as early as 1912 - five years before the German Industrial Standard (DIN) was founded.

Today, the company, now run by the fourth generation of the family, is a leader in the development, sale and manufacture of standard elements, with well over 80,000 standard elements available from stock.
