Woke Medical and RAUMEDIC start a joint future in the Chinese market

Woke Medical and RAUMEDIC signed a cooperation and distribution agreement at the end of November 2016. It concerns the exclusive distribution of the neurosurgical catheter NEUROVENT in the People's Republic of China for the coming years.

China is considered one of the fastest-growing markets in medical technology. Even in specialized products in neurosurgery, strong growth is observed. Within a few years, their sales have doubled. Increasing individual traffic and the practice of so-called risk sports are causes for the rising number of trauma patients here and there, where the NEUROVENT catheter is used diagnostically.

"Through targeted use of RAUMEDIC sensors for pressure, temperature, and oxygen partial pressure in the brain, serious complications for the patient can be prevented. Important bodily functions and sensory abilities remain intact," explains Ingo Bartels, Head of the Clinic Division at RAUMEDIC.

Against this background, Tiger Zhang, CEO of Woke Medical, and Martin Bayer, CEO of RAUMEDIC AG, met in Helmbrechts to sign the long-term contract for closer collaboration. Step by step – according to Tiger Zhang, the translation of the company name Woke – he now intends to bring it to life. This begins with preparations for the approval of RAUMEDIC products in the People's Republic.

"With the concluded contract between Woke Medical and RAUMEDIC, we will participate in one of the fastest-growing and largest markets worldwide with our NEUROVENT catheters," says Martin Bayer. "In the spring of this year, we opened our new US headquarters in North Carolina and implemented our principle 'local business to local people.' With this contract, we can now continue this in China as well."
