Ganter sets new standards in hygienic design

Locks GN 1150: Safe and Clean Locking Solutions

The new GN 1150 locks support the "Clean in Place" (CIP) concept, where machine components are cleaned directly on-site without disassembly. CIP not only saves time and cleaning agents but also reduces downtime and operating costs. These locks are made of stainless steel and equipped with FDA-compliant seals made of EPDM and TPU, which prevent dirt accumulation in dead spaces.

The mechanism of the GN 1150 is based on a simple principle: rotating the bolt by 90 degrees creates a pre-tension that firmly presses flaps, hatches, or doors against their frame. The rotation is performed with a two-sided key made of blue plastic; other actuation methods are already in planning. The GN 1150 locks are available in two variants: "Front Hygiene" (FH) for applications where only the outer side must meet the highest hygienic standards, and "Full Hygiene" (VH), which, with additional seals, also provides the highest standards on the inside. Both variants meet the protection class IP 66 according to DIN EN 60529, ensuring reliable protection against dust and water jets.

Spacer GN 6226: Prevention of Dirt Traps

Another highlight in Ganter's HD range is the GN 6226 spacers. These elements solve the problem of double construction surfaces, which are often difficult to clean and serve as collection points for dirt and microorganisms. Their special design allows for easy, thorough cleaning and increases operational safety.

Like all HD standard elements, the spacers are made of stainless steel with polished surfaces, with a maximum roughness below Ra 0.8 µm. This prevents dirt particles from settling and facilitates cleaning. A special feature of the HD standard elements is their "dead space-free" design: there are no cavities or gaps where contaminants could accumulate. The FDA-compliant seals made of H-NBR, EPDM, or FKM sit flush after assembly and perform their function reliably over the long term. A verified sealing concept ensures that these seals perform their task reliably and permanently.
