SKAN receives the Red Dot for high design quality

SKAN successfully participated in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021. The international jury awarded the distinction "Red Dot" to skanfog® spectra, which stands for high design quality.

SKAN, a pioneer in isolators and cleanroom systems, received the Red Dot Award for its sterilization isolator skanfog® spectra. It stands out in the field of aseptic/toxic filling through rapid decontamination cycles, seamless material transfer, and process safety for both people and products. The skanfog® technology, which micro-nebulizes hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), simplifies and accelerates not only the decontamination process but also its validation. The minimalist and smooth-surfaced design aligns with the hygiene requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturing. The modular system allows the isolator to be adapted to the different needs of customers and the available space conditions. Ergonomic design and the integration of peripheral devices, such as wireless glove testing devices, enable effective and efficient operation of the machine.

Evaluation platform for good design

The Red Dot Award: Product Design, which has existed since 1955 in its original form, honors the best products of each year. "In search of good design and innovation" – in 2021, the approximately 50 jurors of the competition once again sought well-designed and innovative products. The international expert panel consists of specialists from various fields. Over several days, they thoroughly examined the submitted products. Evaluation criteria such as formal quality, ergonomics, and durability served as guidelines.

skanfog® spectra in exhibitions, online, and in the yearbook

Starting June 21, 2021, skanfog® spectra will be visible in the online exhibition on the Red Dot website. On this day, the Red Dot Design Week also begins, during which this year's winners and thus SKAN AG will be digitally honored.

From June 22, 2021, skanfog® spectra will also be presented in the "Design on Stage" exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. Visitors can experience the quality of the designs amidst current design solutions and historic industrial architecture. The Red Dot Design Yearbook 2021/2022 will be published in August. The publication provides a comprehensive overview of the state of the art as well as trends in product design.
