On September 12, 2019, the new Piepenbrock Technology Center (PTZ) in Osnabrück was officially opened. Wolfgang Griesert, Lord Mayor of the City of Osnabrück, and Johannes Bungart, Managing Director of the Federal Guild Association of the Building Cleaning Trade (BIV), attended the event at the Piepenbrock headquarters in Osnabrück. A special highlight of the new facilities is the integrated Cleanroom Training Center.

Numerous guests accepted the invitation to the opening celebration, including many business partners of Piepenbrock as well as representatives of regional and supra-regional trade media. The program included a tour of the facilities and the presentation of the innovative Cleanroom Training Center within the PTZ. An information forum on autonomous cleaning robots was also offered. The Piepenbrock subsidiary Planol also presented its newly developed sanitary cleaner.

10 Years of PTZ in Osnabrück

Piepenbrock first opened its Technology Center in 2009. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the PTZ moved to the grounds of the Service Center in Osnabrück and was expanded both spatially and in content. It combines two important tasks under one roof: testing new cleaning materials and machines, and knowledge transfer to employees. The goal is to directly link theory and practice. According to Arnulf Piepenbrock, the advantages are obvious: “Our Piepenbrock employees benefit from the diverse training and development opportunities. And customers benefit from proven cleaning procedures, equipment, and qualified personnel,” said the managing partner of the company group of the same name. On approximately 550 square meters, extensive test areas are available with various floorings for floor cleaning, as well as a wide range of cleaning materials and machines. A special feature, almost unique in the industry, is the Cleanroom Training Center within the PTZ. “Two reconstructed cleanrooms, a dressing station, and a hand disinfection area enable specialized training under nearly real cleanroom conditions,” explains Arnulf Piepenbrock. “This allows our employees to receive particularly practical training — all the content can be directly explained and practiced in the cleanroom. This ensures that we deploy highly trained personnel for our clients, capable of handling all challenges in the cleanroom,” said the managing partner. In the future, the PTZ’s training program is to be expanded and opened to external participants in terms of cleanroom training.

Griesert and Bungart praise commitment

At the reopening celebration, Arnulf and Olaf Piepenbrock emphasized the importance of qualified personnel for business success. “We want to turn our employees into professionals. We are happy to invest in this: in good training and further education as well as in a state-of-the-art training environment,” Arnulf Piepenbrock made clear in his opening speech alongside his brother. “The Technology Center offers training and further education measures far beyond the traditional building cleaning trade,” praised Johannes Bungart, Managing Director of the BIV, in his speech, and was confident: “The PTZ, in this form unique and exemplary in Germany, is a valuable, sustainable investment in the future of the employees and in the family business Piepenbrock.” Wolfgang Griesert highlighted in his greeting the attributes that have distinguished the service provider since its beginnings in 1913. “Piepenbrock exemplifies the qualities of German and especially Osnabrück middle-sized companies: it acts boldly with a view to the future, responsibly, and sustainably,” said the mayor.
