Efficient injection molding solutions for food and medical products

Negri Bossi presents technological innovations at FAKUMA 2026 that combine productivity and sustainability. Together with its parent company Nissei Plastic and automation specialist Sytrama, the Italian company will showcase two latest-generation injection molding machines from October 12 to 16 in Friedrichshafen (Hall A3, Stand A3-3103). Combined with robot solutions and turnkey applications, these meet the requirements of a Smart Factory, reduce environmental impact, and optimize injection molding processes. Fakuma offers Negri Bossi the opportunity to strengthen its position in the German market and introduce innovative applications for the stable and value-adding food and medical industries.

Food Packaging: Efficient LSR Injection Molding

The focus is on the fully electric injection molding machine NOVA5e110T H1540 (1080 kN), equipped with a Sytrama S8 robot. "The NOVA5eT series is specifically designed for the injection molding of liquid silicone rubber (LSR). The turnkey production cell guarantees maximum efficiency for manufacturers," explains Thomas Strecker, Business Development Manager at NEGRI BOSSI NISSEI in Germany. Together with the German hot and cold runner manufacturer EWIKON, the machine produces a food-grade mold in a four-cavity tool. The production cell integrates a silicone dosing unit from Binks Reinhardt-Technik and a packaging machine from Ravizza Packaging, which automatically packages the finished product.

Medical: Precision and Process Control

"Maximum precision, absolute reliability, and seamless process control are the pillars of the new technological medical application, which has emerged from the synergy between advanced mold technologies and modern design," says Strecker. The fully electric injection molding machine NOVA5e220T-H820 (2160 kN) is equipped with a PETEK laminar flow box and produces resealable medical single-dose bottles.

A high-performance multi-cavity mold from BDL ensures precise centering of cores and mold parts. Patented technologies, surface refinements, structured coatings, and a Mold-Masters SymFill hot runner system guarantee the production of medical parts with demanding cycles, uniform cavity filling, and high durability. A "Water Flow Monitor" system manages thermal regulation and cooling efficiency. Components from HASCO, a long-standing partner of BDL, complete the mold design. This seamless integration of mold design, digital process control, and system technologies meets the strict quality and regulatory standards of the global medical industry.

An efficient and compact Sytrama rotary robot complements the production cell. Its simple and streamlined design ensures maximum operational safety and immediate integration into any production line. Thanks to its high dynamics and movement speed, the device significantly increases the company's productivity and shortens cycle times. "The system is ideal for cleanroom applications, especially due to its solid construction of stainless steel and anodized aluminum. Completely smooth surfaces prevent any potential accumulation of dust and contaminants from the outset. At the same time, it saves space, optimally utilizes available room, and enables compact industrial automation solutions without ever compromising overall performance," adds Strecker.
