Vinkocide® BDA 30 by Vink Chemicals is a newly developed biocide product that can be used for disinfection in applications of Product Type 2 (PT 2). It fills the gap created by a new regulation of the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR): since April 2024, biocidal products for PT 2 based on the active substance DBNPA are excluded.

Applications of Product Type 2 (PT 2) include disinfectants and algaecides that can be used in private settings as well as in public health or industrial sectors. Typical uses in industry include general disinfection of surfaces, machinery, and installations such as air conditioning systems.

For these applications, Vink Chemicals has developed the new product Vinkocide® BDA 30. It is based on the active substance N,N-Bis-(3-Aminopropyl)dodecylamine (Laurylamine Dipropylamine, BDA) and is suitable not only for PT 2 applications but also for PT 6, 11, 12, and 13 (as of September 2024). Vinkocide® BDA 30 acts quickly against a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi.

Additional advantages of Vinkocide® BDA 30

Vinkocide® BDA 30 can primarily be used for surface disinfection in many industries. It is non-sensitizing, has no mutagenic or carcinogenic effects, and is free from aldehydes, halogens, and quaternary ammonium compounds. Vinkocide® BDA 30 is compatible with anionic and nonionic surfactants and remains stable across a wide pH range. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as algae and enveloped viruses such as hepatitis B. Vinkocide® BDA 30 maintains high efficacy even at low temperatures and in the presence of strong organic surface contaminants. It works quickly even at low concentrations. Vinkocide® BDA 30 can be used alone or in combination with other biocides to formulate a wide range of disinfectant products.
