More space for cleaning

The LR Pure Systems GmbH, a specialist in high-tech solutions for ultra-clean gas and fluid systems, has doubled its cleanroom capacity at the Heimerdingen site (Baden-Württemberg). This responds to the increasing demand and the more complex requirements in this segment. The additional ISO 6 class cleanroom space enables the commissioning of another state-of-the-art facility for cleaning components, such as those used in wafer processing or technical gas supply.

For the implementation of the expansion project, LR Pure Systems enlisted CAT Clean Air Technology GmbH (CAT Group) from Stuttgart, with whom the company has been collaborating for several years.

During the planning phase, the high requirements for the chemical purity of the cleanroom according to DIN EN ISO 14644-8 proved to be a challenge, while in the implementation phase, the height of the existing building was particularly demanding. Repeatedly, during ongoing production operations, pipelines had to be reconfigured to optimally position the plenum and filtration technology and to maintain the required height in the approximately 115-square-meter cleanroom. Connecting the existing cleanroom systems also required coordination skills and flexibility from all involved parties.
