AP&S invests in new ultrapure water plant to ensure quality standards
AP&S International GmbH is expanding its infrastructure for ultrapure water treatment, sending a clear signal for the highest quality and security of supply in the semiconductor industry. With the commissioning of a new ultrapure water plant, the company is meeting the increased demand and growing requirements for the delivery quality of its wet process systems.
AP&S has been using its own ultrapure water system for commissioning and rinsing its systems before delivery to customers worldwide since 2017. The ultrapure water is also used in the in-house DemoCenter for realistic process developments for rinsing wafers, customer-specific substrates and for conditioning various components.
However, as the company continues to grow, the existing plant is increasingly reaching its capacity limits. "The new ultrapure water system is a central component of our growth strategy. It ensures uninterrupted rinsing operations, further improves delivery quality and at the same time creates redundancy to safeguard operational processes," explains Stefan Zürcher, Head of Process Technology at AP&S.
Technical data of the entire ultrapure water treatment system:
– Supplier: H&E GmbH, Stuttgart
– Cleanliness: according to SEMI F63-0701
– Treatment capacity: 6 m³/h
– Loop capacity: 6 m³/h
– Available volume: 22 m³ ultrapure water
With this investment, AP&S is not only securing a stable supply of high-purity water for all relevant areas of the company, but is also strengthening its position as a reliable partner for leading companies in the semiconductor industry.
