New electric screw jack made of stainless steel
Your expertise as a technology leader in cleanroom technology has now also been incorporated into the food industry by ALTMANN GmbH.
Due to strict hygiene regulations, the food industry places special requirements on machines and systems used for the production and packaging of food and delicacies. Both material and construction as well as design must be designed in such a way that the systems cannot contaminate the food through abrasion or lubricants. Also essential is the ability to easily, yet thoroughly, clean with highly corrosive cleaning agents. The reasons why stainless steel is mainly used here are well known: it is corrosion- and temperature-resistant in certain qualities, germ-free, and insensitive to cleaning agents. And because the material retains these properties permanently, stainless steel is very durable. Of course, the new lifting device from ALTMANN is also made almost entirely of stainless steel. The main feature that makes it particularly suitable for the food industry is the maintenance-free load strap. Unlike chains or ropes, this is completely free of lubrication and thus non-greasy, while also avoiding abrasion.
Discreetly integrated drives
A design refinement that helps prevent contamination through abrasion is found in the discreet drive technology developed by ALTMANN. It includes, among other things, a low-abrasion material combination of the deflection and guide rollers. Additionally, the integration of the electric strap hoist and drive into enclosed housings captures any potential abrasion. The decentralized control can be housed together with the lifting device or installed in a separate room. Since all travel axes are equipped with frequency converters, the strap hoist can be accelerated smoothly. Operation is possible via a radio remote control, an automatic control, or a wired hand control device.
Designed for continuous operation
The fully enclosed assembly with its smooth surfaces is particularly quick to clean, making the new electric strap hoist suitable for 3-shift operation in production facilities where perishable foods like milk are processed. The wet cleaning in such facilities is also facilitated by the drip pans in the shafts where the energy guide chains are laid. Because water cannot accumulate due to these holes, no biofilm can form, which would otherwise serve as a breeding ground for Legionella or other germs. Currently, the new stainless steel electric strap hoist is in operation at a dairy, where it moves loads of 1 ton. However, it is designed for a load capacity of up to 2 tons. Additionally, the lower hook was directly integrated into the traverse to nearly halve the actual C dimension of 200 mm.
The stainless steel electric strap hoist will soon expand ALTMANN's standard product range.
Crane kits expand the offering
The existing product families from ALTMANN will also be further standardized and offered as so-called crane kits, consisting of a hoist, a head beam, and control system. Since crane tracks and crane bridges can be manufactured and installed locally by partners, transportation costs are significantly reduced.
