With the new Ecobulk Foodcert + Aseptic and Cleancert + Dualprotect, the company now sets even higher standards regarding safety and cleanliness, thereby sustainably expanding the range of applications: As a top innovation, these Schütz IBCs are equipped with a liner system including UN approval. They provide maximum quality protection with minimal effort.

The Ecobulk Foodcert + Aseptic optimally meets the special requirements in the fields of food, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products: It sustainably eliminates contamination risks throughout the entire supply chain. At the same time, it extends the shelf life of the filled products. Thus, the container guarantees consistent quality from filling to dispensing. This is made possible by a special component for these Schütz IBCs: the integrated liner. It is certified according to the industry standard FSSC 22000, which guarantees the highest food safety. The liner is made of high-quality LDPE film. Kept nearly air-free through a special fold, it automatically aligns itself during the filling process. This ensures maximum sealing, cleanliness, and additionally contains an EVOH permeation barrier against oxygen. Because the unfolding process gradually reduces the contact of the filled product with the ambient atmosphere to an absolute minimum. The result: 99 percent less oxygen contact and protection against condensation compared to standard IBCs.

Aseptic IBC reduces risks

As a special measure for microbial reduction, the integrated liner and the associated valve are gamma-irradiated with an average dose of at least 15 kGray during the production of the Ecobulk Foodcert + Aseptic. This special treatment results in an aseptic state. The IBC's inner container also forms an additional, independently effective outlet barrier, even if the integrated liner is damaged. The filled medium is thus doubly protected against leaks and manipulation. For maximum safety, cleanliness, and user comfort, the packaging is delivered 'ready to fill.' Sterilization of the packaging interior through steaming or elaborate liner assembly is no longer necessary. This saves time and costs! The Ecobulk Foodcert + Aseptic can be filled and emptied in all common systems – including the use of pump systems and under aseptic conditions.

Ecobulk Cleancert + Dualprotect

The innovative liner system also offers Schütz for industries with highly sensitive goods from the non-food segment. The appropriately equipped Ecobulk is marketed under the name Cleancert + Dualprotect. The name already reveals it: Even with this IBC, the filled product is doubly protected thanks to the integrated liner! Surrounded by the leak-proof IBC bladder, leaks are effectively prevented if the liner is damaged. The new packaging solution for technically demanding products is extra safe and particularly user-friendly due to delivery 'ready to fill.' Thanks to maximum quality protection, the container is ideally suited for transporting organic compounds on natural or synthetic basis, inorganic compounds, and silicones. A clear application example is the adhesive industry: in Germany, almost one million tons of adhesives are produced annually. A large part of these products reacts with oxygen to form a skin or even begins to cure. The integrated liner minimizes possible oxygen contact during filling and in the packaging, preventing the filled product from changing due to air contact. This ensures extended product shelf life and trouble-free dispensing.

Two new models with many advantages

Unlike reusable systems, the two new models prevent contamination from undiscovered product residues. Filling into the integrated liner sustainably minimizes the general contamination risk. Contact of the filled product with condensate, which can form inside the container, is completely excluded. The liner's oxygen barrier provides additional protection against oxidation, vitamin degradation, and microbial contamination. Additionally, the nitrogen blanketing necessary with other container types is eliminated. The UN approval for dangerous goods transport also applies to the version with liner.

Simple handling – from filling to dispensing

In both Ecobulk variants, the connection for filling is made via the standard outlet valve of the IBC or from above via a filling nozzle attached to the liner, which can be equipped with different vent plugs depending on requirements. For aseptic applications, both the outlet valve and the vent plug on the filling nozzle can be steam-sterilized. The integrated liner unfolds independently according to the fill level. Venting of the inner container is possible by opening the screw cap.

In general, the emptying process is simple and safe via gravity through the outlet valve. It is securely and stably connected to both the liner and the IBC's inner container. For liquids with a watery consistency, nearly complete residual emptying is achieved. For highly viscous filled products, the lock nut can be loosened, and the liner carefully pulled out of the container with the valve to fully empty it.
