LMT Group opens international customer center

On Thursday, September 10, 2015, the LMT Group officially inaugurated the newly built Customer Center of its Fette Compacting machinery division at the Schwarzenbek location. After nearly a year of construction, state-of-the-art testing and acceptance rooms for tablet presses and office spaces have been created on approximately 4,000 square meters.

Between 2010 and 2014, the LMT Group invested around 100 million euros in the development of the corporate group, including nearly 40 million euros in the infrastructure of the Schwarzenbek site. With the opening of the Customer Center for Fette Compacting, a global leader in tablet technology, the company's management continues its comprehensive renewal strategy consistently.

“Our new building is not only the largest individual investment in the history of the LMT Group with about 13 million euros, but it also reflects the corporate strategy supported by the shareholder family to consistently invest in innovation, efficiency, and customer proximity,” said Olaf J. Müller, spokesperson for the management of the LMT Group and Managing Director of Fette Compacting. “It is thus a clear commitment to Schwarzenbek as a technology location.”

The basis for this is the sustainably successful business development of the LMT Group in recent years. This is also reflected in the number of employees at the site: since 2010, the workforce in Schwarzenbek has been steadily growing, and new jobs have been created through investments. Today, around 1,000 employees work at the site, making the group the largest employer in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district.

Bundled expertise of a global market leader

“The new Customer Center of Fette Compacting, in conjunction with our LMT Group Academy in Schwarzenbek, forms a uniquely global competence center covering all aspects of tablet production,” emphasizes Olaf J. Müller further. “In addition to long-term investments in our infrastructure, the continuous development and training of our employees are at the forefront.”

“Sustainability guides our thinking and actions,” underlines shareholder Regine Bengel, highlighting the importance of the new building. “With the investment in the new Customer Center of Fette Compacting, we are strengthening the Schwarzenbek location and its innovative power within the global Fette Compacting competence network in the long term.”

GMP-compliant rooms for optimal factory acceptance testing

With the new building, Fette Compacting provides the most modern testing and acceptance rooms worldwide for tablet presses. Customers from the pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries have the opportunity to accompany all acceptance steps in these rooms according to the factory acceptance test (FAT) procedure. By testing all machine functions and conducting press trials under production-like conditions, Fette Compacting ensures that the systems operate safely and efficiently at the customers’ sites.

In a subsequent construction phase, which directly follows, additional areas will also be created from 2016 for the technical departments.
