Lifting and Moving in New Dimensions
EAP Lachnit: New stainless steel forklift for heavy loads
EAP Lachnit has a new pallet truck for heavy weights up to eight tons. The model Type 411 S is completely made of stainless steel, very robust, and features extremely long forks. The electrically operated pallet truck meets ISO Class 6 and is therefore suitable for operation in cleanrooms. It also stands out for high operational safety, low maintenance requirements, and easy cleaning.
Pallet trucks are the workhorses of intralogistics. The range of models and designs is very broad. In industrial practice, there is still demand for extraordinary designs, such as pallet trucks for very large loads or for sensitive areas like cleanrooms. EAP Lachnit fulfills these very special requirements. On the one hand, the southern German manufacturer specializes in conveyor technology – also for sensitive areas like cleanrooms and Ex-zones – and on the other hand, in custom-made solutions.
A new pallet truck from EAP Lachnit certainly belongs to this category: The battery-powered pallet truck Type 411 S already catches the eye due to its dimensions, and its performance is impressive, as it lifts up to eight tons with a self-weight of around 4.5 tons. It is built very robustly for these tasks and features two powerful electric drives as well as screw lifting spindles. The maximum lifting height is up to 30 mm. This is sufficient for most applications, as it allows for lifting special pallets. These are usually custom-made with dimensions of, for example, 3600 x 2250 mm. For this purpose, the pallet truck is equipped with forks measuring 3275 mm in length (overall length 4175 mm) and 1600 mm in width.
The drive is provided by two powerful AC electric motors with stepless control; two additional AC electric motors are installed for steering, as the manual force needed for purely mechanical turning with a vehicle weight of 4.5 tons empty and eight tons loaded would be too high. For safety reasons, steering in stationary mode is not possible to avoid damage to floor coverings. Steering is only activated once a minimum speed is reached. This occurs at a maximum of 30° per second. From a steering angle of 30°, the maximum travel speed is reduced. Both lifting and lowering are not possible during movement (interlock). Similarly, driving during lifting operations is not allowed.
Versatile in use
The pallet trucks are made entirely of stainless steel with polished surfaces and meet protection class IP66. The stainless steel material with polished surfaces allows for quick and thorough cleaning. Thanks to their construction and material properties, they are also approved for sensitive areas such as cleanrooms. For other special requirements, EAP Lachnit also offers additional variants with special equipment.
