On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its membership in the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions hosted its first VDMA Day on February 3, 2026, at the headquarters in Aslar. The event focused on promoting knowledge transfer and targeted networking of the company's departments on current industry topics.

Exchange on current regulatory challenges

The VDMA Day concentrated on the new and increasingly complex requirements that are coming to the industry through current and upcoming regulations. Topics such as the Machinery Regulation, the Cyber Resilience Act, the Radio Equipment Directive, ATEX, and the impacts of US tariffs were at the center.

Several technical presentations examined these topics from different perspectives, with VDMA employees discussing practical questions with participants from Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions. These employees work in various departments of the company, including Research & Development, Trade Compliance, Export Control, Logistics, and Digital Transformation.

Networking and knowledge transfer in focus

The event enabled direct experience exchange with the highly qualified employees of Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions, many of whom are active in more than 32 VDMA committees—including the Vacuum Technology Research Fund and departments such as Vacuum Technology, Photovoltaic Production Equipment, and various standardization committees. The VDMA Day further strengthened this network, facilitating the efficient transfer of expertise to the respective departments and work areas in the future.

Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions particularly benefited from the industry expertise of the speakers and from well-founded assessments of current regulatory developments during the VDMA Day. The close exchange allowed for immediate discussion of specific questions from everyday business and early adaptation to changing regulatory requirements—supported by the professional competence of the largest European business and industry association.

25 years of active partnership

“The connection between VDMA and Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions has existed since 2001. It started with participation in a project of the Vacuum Technology Research Fund (FFVak). Today, over 40 employees from Pfeiffer are actively involved in VDMA, contributing their expertise to the development and implementation of industry standards,” reports Jürgen Eisenreich, VDMA Consultant for Compressors, Compressed Air, and Vacuum Technology.
