cleanzip - Zip-lock bags in cleanroom quality for optimal handling and packaging in sensitive cleanroom environments
Production and packaging in cleanrooms are highly relevant topics. Product and process quality must not be contaminated by the packaging or the packaging process. Cleanroom-compatible zip lock bags are an ideal solution for this purpose. STRUBL Kunststoffverpackungen has developed cleanroom zip lock bags for these highly sensitive applications to avoid contamination risks to the product and in the process.
With the publication of VDI Guideline 2083 Sheet 9.2 titled “Cleanroom Technology Consumables in the Cleanroom,” a practical guide for assessing consumables is available. The VDI classifies consumables including gloves, reusable clothing, cleanroom shoes, cleaning cloths, disposable clothing, but also packaging materials. All are used in clean, typically ISO 14644-qualified, cleanroom production environments and are often in direct contact with the product. Cleanroom production is established in many industry sectors, e.g., pharmaceuticals, medical technology, food, laboratories, but also in technical fields such as chip manufacturing, (micro)electronics, optics, or automotive. The product spectrum manufactured in cleanrooms is enormous and includes, besides pharmaceutical active ingredients or implants, also medical technology components, parts, assemblies. This results in special contamination risks for the pure product and the pure production environment, which can be avoided by using cleanroom-compatible packaging.
cleanzip – cleanroom-compatible zip lock bags
STRUBL develops and manufactures customized cleanroom packaging for individual customer specifications: In addition to flat and (semi-)sleeve films, mainly bags and sacks, side-fold bags, block-bottom bags, multi-chamber, double bags, and sterilization bags. The latest development is cleanroom-compatible zip lock bags. These resealable bags with a zip closure are a standard packaging material for countless applications but have not previously been available in cleanroom quality. The range of applications for cleanzip zip lock bags extends from laboratory applications, sample collection, sample archiving, interim packaging to primary packaging of components and parts. The cleanzip zip lock bags are produced in a GMP-compliant environment, meeting the high requirements of pharmaceutical and/or medical device standards, such as those specified in the EU Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. Customers can choose between food, medical, or pharmaceutical-grade raw materials, depending on the requirements of the product to be packaged. The gamma sterilization process is naturally also suitable for cleanzip bags. Formats and packaging types can be freely determined by the user.
Automation with the Plug&Pack packaging system
Packaging processes are often labor-intensive and inefficient. With STRUBL’s Plug&Pack system, these can be flexibly automated and linked with production processes. The Plug&Pack system allows cleanzip bags, as well as standard cleanroom bags, to be automatically filled, sealed, and labeled. Process and network integration are naturally guaranteed.
Cleanroom quality and experience
The medium-sized packaging manufacturer has over 70 years of industry experience. The professional GMP production system meets high standards regarding specifications, monitoring, hygiene management, traceability, and validation. Strubl cleanroom packaging is successfully used by renowned manufacturers in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries as primary and secondary packaging materials.
