Cleanroom Monitoring

Optimize and automate processes with interfaces

Interfaces (Modbus, Profinet, ...) can optimize, simplify, and automate processes in cleanroom production.

A monitoring system for cleanrooms or other sensitive rooms and equipment continuously provides 24/7 measurement data such as particle concentration, pressure, temperature, humidity, and event data such as warnings, alarms, acknowledgments, and fault messages.

It is often beneficial and even desirable for these monitoring data to be handled completely "autarkic". This is referred to as an "island solution". However, it often makes sense to provide these quality-relevant data to other systems via interfaces. With the ongoing global digitalization, these requirements are increasing significantly.

Optimize, simplify, automate with interfaces

Interfaces help to optimize customer processes as much as possible (using existing data efficiently), to simplify (no time-consuming multiple systems), and to automate (as few manual processes as possible). There are two levels of interfaces.

Hardware level

At the hardware level, data could be provided via Modbus, Profinet, BACNet, OPC (UA), or optocouplers (0-10V or 4-20mA). Custom programming for additional interfaces is also possible.

Software level

At the software level, measurement data, audit trail data, or entire reports are available.

Examples from practice

Below are some examples that Briem has already implemented in practice:

– Approval process of a deviation via existing DMS:
Transfer of all deviation information to the DMS (Document Management System). Approval with electronic signature is collected in the DMS.
– Use of measurement data for other systems for quality documentation:
Transfer of the relevant data in the previously defined scope to the historian system (Acron)
– Processing of measurement and event data for production control:
Transfer of relevant data to the MES system (Manufacturing Execution System).

Conclusion

In every project and process, requirements differ. BRIEM offers several standard interfaces for the BRIEM monitoring system. The company also develops custom interfaces to systems/processes.
