At the company anniversary for the new job
Schreiner Group: Open Door – Full House
30 years ago marks the pioneering move of Schreiner Group to its current headquarters at Bruckmannring in Oberschleißheim. To celebrate this anniversary, the high-tech company not only opened its corporate gates to all visitors last Friday and Saturday but also hosted a job speed dating event for applicants on-site. More than 1,300 visitors made the dual event in northern Munich a great success.
"For me, every time I am here, it is fascinating to see how much Schreiner Group has grown over the past 30 years. It is now the largest company in our community," says Oberschleißheim's first mayor, Markus Böck. Together with his Unterschleißheim colleague, Christoph Böck, he was one of the first guests on Friday morning. They were personally welcomed by CEO Roland Schreiner, who runs the family business in the third generation, and his father, senior partner Prof. h.c. mult. Dr. h.c. Ing. Helmut Schreiner. "Schreiner Group is one of the most important employers in our region," says Christoph Böck. "It's great to see on-site not only the high-tech production but also the commitment to society and sustainability with our own eyes."
Currently, Schreiner Group is implementing a heat pump project with an investment volume of more than five million euros, through which the company will save 90 percent of gas starting from the second quarter of 2023. This allows the company to produce climate-neutrally as part of its sustainability goals already this year. Visitors could personally see the heat pumps, as well as the massive high-tech production machines and innovation hub, over the weekend.
The information booths on products and developments such as the fine dust sticker, RFID labels, and printed electronics also attracted great interest from the more than 1,300 visitors. Many guests were particularly excited about the presentation by senior partner Helmut Schreiner on the history of Schreiner Group. Using many anecdotes, the managing partner recounted from 1974 to 2012 how the family business had developed over the past decades. Afterwards, guests could enjoy dishes related to the company's international locations in the USA, China, and Europe, such as hot dogs, spring rolls, and pork roast, in the BIO-certified cafeteria.
However, a particularly great success was the job speed dating. With this innovative format, applicants could get to know Schreiner Group in a relaxed and straightforward manner. Interested candidates simply introduced themselves over both days in a casual atmosphere. This way, both applicants and employers could immediately see if the chemistry was right. And it seems to have worked well: more than 120 interested individuals inquired about career opportunities and applied on-site. "We focus on specialists and young talent," says CEO Roland Schreiner. "That’s why we are hiring more new apprentices this year than ever before." Many of these new apprentices, who will start in September, applied during the weekend at the job speed dating. "As a hidden champion, we often find that people do not know our name," summarizes Roland Schreiner. "However, an event as successful as this weekend clearly shows that we are recognized as a modern high-tech company."
