INNOVATION PRICE 2003 for PALAS!

The Karlsruher Palas GmbH was honored for the development welas® of the particle measuring technique with a Annerkennung of the Dr. Rudolf Eberle price 2003. The award of the prize took place on 17 November in Stuttgart houses of the economy via minister of economics Dr. Walter Doering. Five enterprises were distinguished with an interest on loan, to twelve further enterprises, under it the Palas GmbH, received for their outstanding achievements an acknowledgment document. With the innovative technology developed by PALAS already substantial progress for the particle technology could be achieved.Operational areas of the patented welas® system are among other things environmental measurements, medicine and Pharmatechnik and applications in the range of the automobile industry. With the welas® system most diverse aerosols and types of dust can be measured. The aerosol spectrometer with the world-smallest sensor is able to determine particle size and particle quantity at the same time and independently. Due to the assigned technology connected with a particularly small and easy building method the procedure for various ranges of application in research and production is suitable. Like that also measurements at so far not accessible highly combustible places or in agressiven media are possible with the welas system. The meaning and the ranges of application of the particle measurement constantly increase. Within the range of the medicine and environmental research so e.g. substantial realizations over the composition and distribution of atmospheric or bio aerosols can be won.In addition, with this technology the effectiveness is examined by filter systems in the automobile and aircraft construction or in the clean-room technology. The system was successfully inserted among other things for the measurement of the particle purity before gas turbines and the particle measurement into stables and road tunnel. Also were already successfully practiced to particle measurements at temperatures of minus 90 degrees. The Karlsruher Palas GmbH celebrates the twenty-year-old operating anniversary in this year. The enterprise was created 1983 and ranked at that time among the first enterprises in the Karlsruher technology factory. 1986 were already distinguished the company Palas for the development of the aerosol generator and Feststoffdosieres RGB-1000 with the innovation price of the country Baden-Wuerttemberg.
