With the MAS-100 Sirius®, MBV AG introduces the successor to the MAS-100 NT® – the world’s best-selling active microbial air sampler. This agar-based air sampler sets a new benchmark for monitoring microbial air contamination in both controlled and non-controlled environments, including pharmaceutical cleanrooms. It minimizes the risk of secondary contamination while significantly enhancing process safety, operational efficiency, and data integrity. The MAS-100 Sirius® is designed in accordance with ISPE GAMP5 and fully validated according to PDA TR #13, EU GMP Annex 1, and ISO 14698 / EN 17141.

User-Friendly and Safe Operation with a World First

With the launch of the MAS-100 Sirius, MBV introduces a world first: a self-aligning magnetic perforated lid. Its angled ergonomic handle simplifies handling during sampling, requiring less effort and enabling aseptic operation from the side. Its smooth stainless-steel housing is free of dirt traps, allowing for easy cleaning with standard disinfectants and sporicidals. The internal flow path of the sampling head can be actively decontaminated using VHP. Overall the risk of secondary contaminations is significantly reduced.

The intuitive and configurable user interface guides users step by step through the sampling process. Alternatively, the MAS-100 Sirius can be conveniently operated from outside the cleanroom via remote control using WiFi. Automated self-check routines alert users to missing or incorrect components during sampling. The agar plate holder can be adjusted without tools or adapters to accommodate 55 mm and 90 mm plates as well as Growth Direct® cassettes.

Ensuring Maximum Process Efficiency and Reliability

The high flow rate of 200 SLPM shortens sampling times, making it easier to meet tight schedules. A built-in leak test verifies proper tightness between the perforated lid and the sampler, supporting the use of infact lids. The dual-sensor design enables early detection of sensor drifts, ensuring maximum precision in every sample.

Uncompromising Data Integrity

The new air sampler features a complete, tamper-evident audit trail with filter. Error-proof data transfer via result barcode or WiFi ensures data integrity at all times. The MAS-100 Sirius® can be seamlessly integrated into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and environmental monitoring softwares – including Active Directory login.
