Focus on sustainability

EFAFLEX is a new member of DGNB

The industrial high-speed doors from global market leader EFAFLEX contribute in many ways to the sustainability of buildings. This is now also underscored by their membership in the German Society for Sustainable Building.

The high-speed door opens at a lightning-fast pace and almost silently, allowing a vehicle or person to pass through and then closes immediately behind. This process occurs millions of times daily in Germany alone with EFAFLEX high-speed doors.

Since April 2025, EFAFLEX Door and Security Systems GmbH & Co. KG has been a member of the German Society for Sustainable Building (DGNB), one of the world's leading associations dedicated to sustainable construction.

"We are pleased to now be part of the growing DGNB family as a manufacturer of industrial high-speed doors. The sustainability of our doors, as well as the energy savings achieved through daily use, underline our commitment to more sustainability in construction," explains Jan Hauffe, Head of Business Intelligence and Sustainability at the door manufacturer.

"We are happy that the sustainability network has gained another partner in the form of the DGNB new member EFAFLEX to jointly advance the sustainable transformation of our society," says Johannes Kreißig, Managing Director of DGNB.

High-speed doors from EFAFLEX contribute to energy and emission savings

EFAFLEX is the global market leader in industrial high-speed doors. The company's doors from Bruckberg near Munich excel in buildings or on the exterior with excellent insulation and high speeds of up to 4.0 m/s. The potential energy and emission savings are made visible by the EFA-EnergySaver on the company's website with independently verified data.

Additionally, EFAFLEX high-speed doors offer a long lifespan of ten years or more and can perform thousands of door cycles per year.

DGNB provides a platform for the sustainability quality of products

The non-profit organization has been committed since 2007 to increasing sustainability and climate protection, and thus to a conscious use of resources in the construction and real estate industry. This includes not only the use of reusable building materials but also, for example, reducing energy consumption.

DGNB works with a holistic approach that considers ecological, economic, and socio-cultural aspects. These define both the sustainability of buildings and the products used within them. In addition to DGNB certification for buildings and districts, DGNB offers builders, planners, and architects access to information on the sustainability quality of individual construction products via the freely accessible digital platform DGNB Navigator. With over 2,700 member organizations, DGNB is the largest network for sustainable building in Europe.

This network has now gained a new member with EFAFLEX, which makes buildings more sustainable from the very first opening of the high-speed door.
