PTA Pharma-Technical Equipment Construction was founded in 1987 by Helmut Kasian. As a result of continuous expansion, the company eventually settled in Mauern near Freising in Lower Bavaria and built an extended, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility there.

Within a few years, PTA established itself as a leading provider of cleanroom technology and cleaning systems for the pharmaceutical industry. PTA systems have since been characterized by innovative technology and particularly high-quality execution "Made in Germany".

As part of succession planning, Rüdiger Dilg acquired the company in 2006, who, together with his Neufahrn-based Otto Dilg GmbH, had been a successful entrepreneur in the surface technology sector for many years. Dilg expanded the production and sales capacities, increased the number of employees due to strong growing demand, and in early 2008 opened a new production hall at the Neufahrn location.

In 2009, the product program acquisition of the traditional company Huber Maschinenfabrik GmbH – a pioneer and provider of technologically unique industrial cleaning systems worldwide – marked another milestone. In 2018, Rüdiger Dilg's son, Marcel Dilg, joined PTA as a second managing director. Previously, as a mechanical engineer, he had worked for several years in pharmaceutical production in the USA.

Today, at the Mauern PTA location, primarily laminar flow systems are produced, and in the Neufahrn production halls, cleaning systems for the sterilization of pharmaceutical small parts are manufactured, such as rubber stoppers for injectable medical products. Since 2020, the complete Dilg program (e.g., brush machines along with comprehensive services in sheet metal technology) has been part of PTA, thus forming the optimal complement to the product portfolio.
