Profile
Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences
At the Faculty of Life Sciences at the Sigmaringen campus, there are currently five bachelor's degree programs, including Pharmaceutical Technology as well as Smart Building Engineering and Management, and two master's degree programs.
Numerous modern laboratories are available for teaching and research, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the faculty in their thematic orientation. A special feature in laboratory equipment is the Pharmaceutical Technology Center with two pharmaceutical cleanroom areas of classes D and C, primarily equipped for the production and analysis of solid and semi-solid medicinal forms. The Sigmaringen Innovation Campus offers additional research spaces for industrial collaborations (including in the field of packaging technology).
Cleanroom technology is an important part of the teaching in the bachelor's degree programs. The fundamentals for later work in cleanrooms are laid even before the practical semester, both theoretically and through an internship. In the Pharmaceutical Technology program, there is further specialization focusing on sterilization technology. Cleanroom technology is also firmly embedded in the master's program in Facility and Process Design. The "Factory Planning" module regularly awards a prize from VIP 3000 e.V.
