With performance in five dimensions towards future-proof, series-ready solutions in plastic processing
Pöppelmann at K 2025
In a market environment characterized by uncertain economic and social conditions, it becomes particularly clear who is capable of consistently implementing future topics into practice. The Pöppelmann Group from Lohne demonstrates future viability through performance: Under this guiding principle, it presents market-ready solutions at K 2025 that set new standards in speed, quality, sustainability, international presence, and engineering excellence. With a comprehensive portfolio of products from the divisions K-TECH®, KAPSTO®, and FAMAC® – including the groundbreaking development of a component made from post-consumer recycled material (PCR) for vehicle interiors, which will be presented exclusively at the fair – the plastics processor shows how products of tomorrow can become even more efficient, resource-saving, and market-oriented.
Circular Performance with Interior PCR – true circular economy, also in the sense of ELV
Circular Performance is Pöppelmann's future advantage in the use of recyclates: With material expertise and highly developed processes, functional series applications are realized that already meet the legal and regulatory requirements of tomorrow. It is consistently possible to significantly increase the proportion of recyclate in various products – without compromising quality and functionality. The division Pöppelmann K-TECH®, developer of highly complex technical plastic components, already manufactures a series product today with the attachment console made from post-consumer recycled material (PCR), which originates from end-of-life vehicles and helps vehicle manufacturers meet the requirements of the planned EU End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation (ELV). K-TECH® now sets the next milestone with interior-compatible PCR for vehicles. It addresses classic challenges of PCR materials such as fluctuating quality, odor issues, and long-term stability. The development was enabled by the company's own technology and laboratory infrastructure, which supports precise characterization and highly accurate processing of recycled materials. The innovation will premiere exclusively at K. A visit to the plastics specialist is therefore worthwhile.
Speed Performance – rapid tool creation shortens time-to-market
At K, Pöppelmann demonstrates how speed performance becomes a competitive advantage. With efficient processes and digital development tools, the various divisions support their customers in significantly reducing time-to-market. For example, the business unit Pöppelmann KAPSTO®, a specialist for protective solutions made of plastics for industrial applications, now enables particularly fast implementation of custom protective caps or plugs. After completing the design and approval of the part data, the tool is created and the first samples are produced within just six days. This is achieved through well-thought-out, tool-compatible part designs, as well as processes and production conditions conceived from scratch. The key to this extraordinary pace lies in the company's own Tool Technology Center: the proximity and joint design enable Pöppelmann to achieve unparalleled speed.
Quality Performance – fully automated cleanroom production as standard
Quality Performance at Pöppelmann stands for demanding quality management, which guarantees maximum safety and traceability through modern production environments, excellent hygiene conditions, careful material selection, and comprehensive process control and documentation. For applications with the highest cleanliness requirements, such as in the food industry, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals, the business unit Pöppelmann FAMAC® produces components, assemblies, and packaging made of plastics under strict cleanroom and GMP conditions. This also includes large-format pharmaceutical packaging for the safe transport of glass and plastic syringes. With the expansion of the cleanroom, processes have been fully automated – from part removal from injection molding machines to finished packaging, including RFID labeling for seamless traceability. Customers benefit from increased safety and faster, more efficient workflows. The next expansion stage, adding another 500 m², will also enable multi-stage manufacturing processes with downstream assembly procedures under optimal cleanroom conditions.
Other performance dimensions at Pöppelmann at K
In addition to Circular, Speed, and Quality Performance, Local Performance and Engineering Performance also significantly contribute to Pöppelmann's overall performance. With a global presence and locally anchored teams, the plastics specialist ensures reliable and market-oriented customer support. Decentralized production strengthens delivery reliability and enables sustainable, regionally tailored solutions. Local Performance means close customer proximity and on-site implementation for Pöppelmann. This makes the work of the plastics specialist resilient to market conditions and provides partners with the security of regional proximity combined with global expertise. Furthermore, Engineering Performance stands for the company's comprehensive technical competence. Whether lightweight construction, function integration, or high-end applications: through development expertise, simulation-supported design, and material-appropriate constructions, innovative plastic solutions are created that meet the diverse requirements of modern applications.
“Under the motto PERFORMANCE. NOW., we are sending a clear signal: Future viability is created through concrete solutions that offer real added value to customers. That is why we are also consistently advancing our future initiatives now, even in challenging market conditions,” emphasizes Managing Director Matthias Lesch.
