Vaccine vial system according to FDA requirements

Often it is the small improvements that make a product truly optimal for use. An example is the new dropper bottle system E / F with different cap designs – in System E, the cap has an authenticity seal that remains firmly attached to the bottle after opening. System F features a cuff cap.

"Many people need eye drops multiple times a day. Therefore, it is important that these bottles function reliably until the last drop," said Niels Düring, Global Executive Vice President at Gerresheimer Plastic Packaging, who presented a comprehensive portfolio of primary plastic packaging for solid and liquid medications to customers and interested parties at CPhI in Frankfurt. The dropper bottles are produced in cleanrooms.

TE-Ring – now firmly connected to the bottle

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued new requirements for eye drop bottles, which stipulate that the TE ring for authenticity protection must be permanently attached to the bottle. Gerresheimer has therefore developed a new dropper bottle system E with two different cap designs. In addition to the already introduced standard cap, there is now another with a fixed quality ring that meets the new requirements and has received FDA approval. The authenticity ring features two flexible parts that behave like valve flaps, creating a positive retention mechanism at the neck of the bottle.

Dropper bottles for all common volumes

Gerresheimer manufactures dropper bottles of types E/F in cleanroom conditions in sizes of 5, 10, 15, and 30 ml. The bottle and dropper are made of LDPE, and the cap is made of HDPE.
