In critical high-pressure applications – such as demanding process media like hydrogen, hydraulic systems, or aerospace – the tightness of all components is an essential prerequisite for safe operation. With the new XTI rupture disc, Bormann & Neupert by BS&B offers a pressure relief solution that meets the highest requirements for leak-tightness, reliability, and compactness.

The forged rupture disc is completely free of weld connections and thus avoids potential weak points that can arise from the welding process. The integrated design of the XTI completely omits separation points, ensuring absolute tightness and high process safety for plant operators. Welding tests and documentation are also rendered unnecessary; this simplifies the technical approval of systems.

Enhanced safety in focus

Its design also makes the XTI particularly compact and lightweight, making it ideal for mobile applications or use in confined spaces. A continuous operating pressure of up to 80 percent of the minimum burst pressure is possible without increased risk, as well as applications in vacuum or with frequently changing pressure cycles. Only when the critical pressure is reached does the disc respond with high precision. Its cross-drilled design prevents fragments from being released – an important safety aspect to avoid damage to downstream systems.

The maintenance-free XTI rupture discs are manufactured by BS&B to customer specifications in all common materials, with diameters ranging from 0.25 to 1 inch and with customized process connections – even in small batch sizes or as single units.
