Rodriguez looks back on a successful year 2023
More capacities, more digitalization, more sustainability
The year 2023 was entirely focused on investment at Rodriguez, starting with the new construction, the decision to implement a new ERP system, and numerous measures for better environmental management. But 2023 was also an extremely successful year for the Eschweiler company in other areas.
In the middle of the year, Rodriguez kicked off a new building project with a production hall, which is scheduled to be completed in summer 2024. Due to the expansion of in-house manufacturing and the addition of new machinery, the need for space increased, explains Gunther Schulz, Managing Partner at Rodriguez: “Thanks to the investment in the new hall, the company can continue to offer the flexibility and quality that set it apart from its competitors.”
Significant progress was also made in digitalization. Rodriguez launched a new ERP system that, starting at the end of 2024, is intended to support many business processes through digital workflows. “Basically, all our digitalization projects aim to create added value for the customer. There is still a lot of potential here that we want to gradually tap into,” says Christoph Aretz, Commercial Director at Rodriguez.
Insights from the Ökoprofit program were also implemented, and the company's environmental and energy management was optimized. The goal of the program is to save costs by using resources efficiently. “The program has significantly helped us as a company to identify areas for improvement and implement suitable measures,” says Managing Director Gunther Schulz. “We look forward to further implementing our strategy in the coming years.”
Other highlights of the year included numerous trade fairs, as well as internal events such as leadership training, Health Day, the company run, and the first participation in the corporate visit program “Hello Neighbor!”, which provided Rodriguez with an exciting behind-the-scenes look.
In 2023, Rodriguez once again decided not to send or distribute Christmas gifts to customers and suppliers. Instead, the company donates to the initiatives “breakfast4kids” and “BUNTER KREIS Aachen,” as well as to the “Lohner Hof Reit-Therapie e.V.” in Eschweiler. breakfast4kids e.V. takes care of the schoolchildren's snack breaks around Aachen and Cologne every day. The BUNTE KREIS Aachen supports sick or disabled children and adolescents and their families. The Lohner Hof offers various animal-assisted therapies as well as vocational training for people with disabilities.
