RICO Sicherheitstechnik AG presents a broad portfolio at POWTECH 2025

REDEX® Ball

The RICO Security Technology AG will present its current products in the field of explosion protection at POWTECH 2025. In Hall 12.0, Stand 12-454, visitors can learn about the latest developments from experts in explosion technical decoupling. This year, the focus is among other things on the REDEX® Ball, which, through an extension of the certificate, is now even more economical for users. Additionally, the trade fair team will present the current development status of an innovative new REDEX® Flap and invite interested visitors to a personal conversation at the stand.

REDEX® Ball: Cost savings through extended approval

The REDEX® Ball operates on the ball valve principle and has been specifically developed for pneumatic conveying with simultaneous explosion protection requirements. The product focuses on dust explosion classes St1 and St2 for organic dusts. While previously both an IR sensor and a pressure sensor were required to detect an explosion, the REDEX® Ball is now approved for the lower dust explosion class St1 with the exclusive use of an IR sensor. This innovation allows for a smaller control unit size and makes the overall concept significantly more cost-effective. The proven functionality remains unchanged: the quick release occurs purely pneumatically in the event of an explosion, and the explosion protection ball valve can also be operated efficiently pneumatically during the process.

In addition, RICO will present its other established explosion protection solutions in Nuremberg. The VENTEX® explosion protection valve, which is regarded as the ultimate quality product in the industry, will not be missing at the stand. It features a flow velocity of at least 30 m/s across all nominal sizes, ensuring the highest process stability. The flexible installation directly before or after pipe bends also offers significant advantages in plant planning. Furthermore, the passive explosion protection solution impresses with its construction and operation, requiring only minimal maintenance and offering an extraordinarily long service life.

Moreover, RICO's portfolio includes active products for decoupling, such as the explosion protection slide RSV and the REDEX® Slide. The RSV with external energy trigger prevents the spread of explosions early in adjacent plant areas. It is particularly suitable for dust-conveying pipelines where pressure drops and obstacles are undesirable. The REDEX® Slide provides protection in pressure-relieved and depressurized systems. Coupled with pressure and/or flame sensors, it causes immediate closure of the pipeline and has also been specifically developed for intensive dust applications.
