Piepenbrock expands security contract for Helmholtz Munich

Since 2017, Piepenbrock has been providing various security services for Helmholtz Munich (Helmholtz Center Munich). After a re-tendering process, the previous tasks in the field of on-site fire brigade were expanded to include a 24-hour service at the beginning of March.

At Helmholtz Munich, the on-site fire brigade handles preventive fire protection, technical assistance, and internal sanitation services. Since January 1, 2017, Piepenbrock has supported the fire department command center and is additionally responsible for security, reception, patrol, and mail services. All services were regained through a re-tendering process in early 2022, and the fire services were even significantly expanded. The Helmholtz Center Munich decided to outsource this to a service provider to ensure 24/7 readiness — and awarded this lot to their long-standing partner Piepenbrock.

Comradely Collaboration

"With the start of the contract in 2017, we recruited, trained, and successfully familiarized many qualified employees for the on-site fire department command center. We are therefore all the more pleased to be able to continue this contract for the Helmholtz Center Munich on a larger scale," appreciates Torsten Woestendiek, Deputy Department Head of Technical Management Safety, for the trust placed in them. A total of 19 fire brigade personnel trained according to FwDV 2 were hired. All employees must also demonstrate unrestricted fitness as respiratory protection device wearers (FwDV 7). This personnel is fully integrated into the fire brigade's operational service. Both sides benefited from the already established and good cooperation when starting the 24-hour readiness. This is also confirmed by Bernd Goldschmidt, Head of the On-site Fire Brigade: "Piepenbrock has become an important partner over the past years, with whom we work well and trustfully.
