New Pharma Tool Changer from Zimmer Group

Aseptic standard product for the highest hygiene requirements

The Zimmer Group presents its latest milestone in automation technology: the sterile tool changer WMR2000, specially developed for use in highly sensitive, hygienic environments. This sterile standard product meets the strictest hygiene regulations and sets new standards in the pharmaceutical and cleanroom industries.

The new tool changer impresses with its hygienic, FDA-compliant design and compliance with protection class IP68. The housing is made from easy-to-clean PET and is resistant to hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), making it ideal for use in areas with especially high demands for cleanliness and disinfection.

Another highlight is the lightweight and compact design of the new system. Through innovative material use, the tool changer not only ensures easy handling but also significantly reduces downtime during tool changes. The magnetic mechanism allows for quick exchange of spare parts, while a permanent electromagnet ensures that tools and workpieces remain securely connected even in the event of a power failure. This provides an important safety advantage and minimizes failure risks.

Optimized signal transmission and free usage options

To ensure reliable signal transmission, the tool changer features ten freely usable pins as well as additional coding. An integrated coding switch allows differentiation of up to seven different spare parts, increasing flexibility and application diversity. The tool changer also enables clean media transfer through four integrated compressed air or vacuum transmitters.

Resistant materials for the toughest conditions

The tool changer is designed according to GMP and ISO 14644 requirements and uses FDA-compliant materials. Its low particle emission also allows for use in cleanrooms. Thanks to its durable surfaces and materials, the tool changer is resistant to aggressive cleaners such as hydrogen peroxide and other cleaning agents.

Additionally, the Zimmer Group offers a suitable storage station for the tool changer, which makes the change process even more efficient and thus increases productivity in pharmaceutical and other highly sensitive production environments.
