New igus e-chain special cables for the seventh axis on Fanuc robots

To efficiently deploy an industrial robot in large production facilities, these robots move linearly on a seventh axis along extended production lines. Along this path, it is essential to ensure a safe power supply from the control cabinet to the robot. Therefore, igus has now expanded its range of e-chain cables for robots with two PUR hybrid cables - CFSPECIAL.792.015 and CFSPECIAL.792.016. The new chainflex cables are highly flexible and designed for use with Fanuc robots.

Specifically for demanding robot applications, igus offers users a variety of motion plastics: including multi-axis energy supply systems for cable protection or cables for the seventh axis on ABB and KUKA robots. The unique igus bundle twisting construction principle of these cables for long energy chain travel distances successfully prevents corkscrewing and other failures in production lines. Therefore, igus has now further expanded its range of cables for the seventh axis with two PUR hybrid cables for Fanuc robots. The specially designed cables are developed and tested for high-dynamic applications in production facilities with long travel distances. Especially on long stretches along the seventh linear axis, it is crucial that cables do not fail due to corkscrewing. The new PUR hybrid cables CFSPECIAL.792.015 and CFSPECIAL.792.016 meet the electrical technical requirements of Fanuc robots and additionally fulfill the high mechanical demands for high-dynamic applications in long, sliding travel paths of manufacturing systems.

New hybrid cables for robots: Tested and with warranty

The new chainflex special cables for Fanuc robots are shielded and feature an abrasion-resistant PUR outer jacket. The cables are particularly notch-resistant, flame-retardant, and halogen-free. The special cables are additionally resistant to oil and coolant, as well as hydrolysis and microbes. Like all igus cables, these chainflex cables have been tested in the company's own 2,750-square-meter testing laboratory under real environmental conditions. Therefore, igus, as the only provider on the market, can offer a 36-month warranty on its cables.
