At K 2025, Netstal will present the new generation of the fully electric Elion series for medical technology applications. The series has been extensively redesigned and optimized for a compact design, significantly reducing space requirements while maintaining the same clamping force.

The new "Elion Med" features, according to the manufacturer, a newly designed toggle lever, a compact injection gearbox, a split control cabinet, and a modified safety cover. These measures are intended to improve accessibility and ease of maintenance. At market launch, four variants with 1,200 kN and 1,750 kN clamping force will be available. In the long term, the portfolio aims to cover clamping forces from 800 kN to 4,200 kN.

Technically, the machine offers high injection precision and short dry cycle times, according to Netstal. The control is based on direct injection force measurement (RFC) with a sampling rate of 2 kHz. A newly developed direct drive is intended to increase energy efficiency. All drive components are designed for continuous operation under high load.

The machine is suitable for cleanroom use up to ISO Class 7. Encapsulated and water-cooled drives, smooth surfaces, and a hermetically sealed control cabinet support emission and cleaning requirements. Various interfaces based on OPC-UA (e.g., Euromap 77, 82) enable easy integration into production environments.

During K 2025, an "Elion 1200 Med" will produce the housing of an autoinjector. A four-station indexing tool from Zahoransky with servo-electric needle valve nozzles, an integrated rotary unit, and shortened cycle times will be used. A 6-axis robot will handle removal and quality control. Other participating partners include Saxe (automation), Petek (cleanroom technology), HB Therm, Piovan, Sabic, Sax Polymers, and bfa solutions.
