Munich Airport: State-of-the-art service technology for Terminal 1

The Munich Airport is the second-largest airport in Germany – and one of the busiest in Europe: 224 destinations in 66 countries are served from here. To maintain service and quality for travelers at a consistently high level in the long term, Munich Airport is currently expanding Terminal 1 with an additional runway and a central building complex. The total area of the expansion amounts to approximately 95,000 square meters.

For the construction supervision in the HLSK (Heating, Ventilation, Sanitary, Climate) sector, Munich Airport Real Estate GmbH has commissioned an expert from Stuttgart: CAT Clean Air Technology GmbH (CAT Group). The scope of work includes activities in planning, procurement preparation and procedures, as well as construction execution. Specifically, the construction supervision role involves monitoring planning processes and construction performance, oversight, preventive quality assurance, schedule control, supervision of construction process coordination, and consulting services. The CAT Group has previously been active in projects related to technical building equipment for Munich Airport.

The focus of Munich Airport on excellent infrastructure, by the way, pays off: In the 2024 annual "World Airport Awards," it received the "Best Airport in Central Europe" award. Additionally, last year, passengers awarded the airport staff the title of "Best Airport Staff in Europe."
