Polysoude is also introducing innovations in the field of pipe orbital welding with the development of the TIG Bi-Cathode technology (TIGer), which has led to significant productivity improvements.

TIG Orbital Welding: Adjustable and Networked Power Sources

Regulations and standards dominate the pipe sector, imposing increasingly demanding quality criteria on industries. Based on this observation, Polysoude has developed solutions with and without welding wire for many years, relying on this stable and reliable process, which can be used for all types of materials. By connecting a variety of welding heads with Polysoude's power sources, all pipe welding configurations can be covered, ensuring quality, flatness, and repeatability that meet the complex requirements imposed on manufacturers.

Among these latest developments are the power sources of the P4-P6 series, now with additional options.

Indeed, the touchscreen can now be removed and used with multiple power sources of the same category. These modern and upgradeable power sources are now marked with "Industry 4.0 Ready." They can be easily integrated into a modern factory or a connected construction site. For example, remote control allows for loading welding programs, retrieving data, and accessing all documentation related to the welding process.

Another concrete example: today, the power source reminds the operator that maintenance date for the equipment is approaching.

These power sources, with or without a mobile touchscreen, are perfectly suited for welding applications in cleanrooms, such as in semiconductor manufacturing or pharmaceuticals. This allows the operator to select, program, and monitor the welding process without leaving the room, reducing the risk of contamination.

Polysoude has also expanded its product range with the UHP 625 welding head for welding small-diameter pipes (3 to 17.3 mm) and microfittings in the ultra-high purity sector. The main advantages are the compact size and ergonomic controls on the housing. The clamping blocks, also called "Fixture Blocks," are ideal for all types of microfittings and secure the clamping of the pipes to be welded, ensuring perfect alignment and centering of the ends.

Productivity has increased significantly in recent years and has become the primary concern of pipe manufacturers. After years of development, Polysoude created the TIGer technology based on the TIG process. This bi-cathode technology, designed especially for automated welding, allows reduced ferrite levels (< 5%) and melting capacities over 6 kg/h for wire feed speeds greater than 1,000 mm/min. This enables maintaining the quality of conventional TIG welding while simultaneously increasing productivity.

In its ongoing effort to adapt to market demands and leveraging long-standing experience in automated welding through various developments in welding instructions and equipment of all kinds, Polysoude also offers a catalog of standard machines called PolyClad. These systems can cover more than 80% of such equipment requirements.
