Invisible particles, real consequences: New Camfil film shows why clean indoor air protects health

How clean is the air we breathe indoors, and what impact does it have on our health? A film recently released by filter manufacturer Camfil addresses these questions as part of the international series "Healthier Together." Healthier Together is a series by the WHO Foundation and was produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions.

Whether cooking, heating, cleaning, or simply normal building use: microscopic particles are generated in everyday life. In modern, energy-efficient buildings, these particles remain in the air for a long time if ventilation and filtration are inadequate – with consequences for the well-being and health of the people inside the building.

"At Camfil, we work with something that cannot be seen, but whose effects everyone can feel: air. Understanding and actively controlling indoor air quality reduces risks, protects people, and creates a noticeably better environment," says Anders Sundvik, VP Product & Innovation at Camfil, who introduces the topic in the film.

Those responsible for schools, offices, and other public buildings should not consider providing clean air merely as a technical issue, but as an essential part of responsible building planning and management.
