At interpack, the ROTZINGER Group is presenting its expanded packaging and process portfolio for the first time. Highlights at stand C07 in Hall 1 include the Paloma feed system, the FLK/VRM filling and capping machine, the TLT blister machine in a new compact design, as well as a production line for bars. Visitors will also gain insights into the company's digital solution, which can be tailored to individual needs.

Paloma: high precision in placement and new layout possibilities

"Paloma is our high-performance robot and offers the highest accuracy in placement," explains Christian Vouillamoz, Product Manager at the ROTZINGER Group. Paloma picks up and places products into cartons, boxes, thermoformed packaging, flow pack machines, and cartoners. Using camera-controlled high-speed delta robots, the machine identifies products on the conveyor belt and places them accordingly into the feed of the subsequent process. The system handles both unpackaged and packaged products and, thanks to its modular design, allows for direct integration of a feed chain from the packaging machine (horizontal or vertical) into the cell and loading with aligned products. Paloma is ideally suited for applications in the food and confectionery industries and can be used in numerous areas, such as baked goods or fresh products – in combination with a new integrated buffer system, it also offers new, efficient layout options.

Maximum flexibility in filling and capping

When it comes to filling pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, the ROTZINGER Group's filling and capping machine FLK/VRM plays a central role. The machine combines the advantages of a linear filling machine and a rotary capping machine, offering maximum flexibility and efficiency. The volumetric and mass flow filling system can fill various products, from aqueous to viscous and sticky liquids, and can be easily adapted to different formats.

Powerful blister machine with new compact design

ROTZINGER also introduces a new and improved version of its TLT blister machine, capable of processing up to 400 blisters per minute. "The TLT is a proven and reliable system, and we are pleased to bring it back to the market," says Andreas Graf, Managing Director of ROTZINGER PharmaPack. The TLT has been redesigned and is characterized by its flexibility, safety, and short changeover times, while maintaining high overall line efficiency. The machine is versatile for primary packaging of pharmaceutical products and can be connected to multiple cartoners. Customers benefit from its modular design for easy and straightforward upgrades. To ensure compliance with regulations and protect product and packaging material, the production and drive areas of the TLT are clearly separated and can optionally be fully enclosed. The user-friendly interface of the TLT, featuring a simple color touchscreen, ensures easy operation and reduces the risk of operator errors. The machine is ideal for packaging numerous pharmaceutical products such as tablets, capsules, and dragees in traditional thermoformed and aluminum foil.

Greater flexibility and less product waste in bar production

Bar manufacturers can maximize their production capacity with a comprehensive solution covering the entire process from processing to secondary packaging – all from a single source. The ROTZINGER Group showcases the innovative long-cutting machine WRL Flex from HANSELLA, which has belonged to ROTZINGER since 2021. The WRL Flex cutting machine features an adjustable knife position, allowing product width to be changed with minimal effort and without replacing components. In addition to increased flexibility, this reduces production costs and contributes to a faster return on investment (ROI). Unlike other machines of this type, the WRL Flex allows repeatable adjustments of the product width without replacing the knife shaft or the entire cutting machine – significantly reducing changeover times. Furthermore, manufacturers benefit from a hygienic design and easy, tool-free cleaning.

During the processing of bar masses, the patented flexible WRF Flex roller former produces no scrap at the edges of the strip. This results in less raw material loss and reduced labor, leading to lower production costs and faster profitability of the investment (ROI). The WRF Flex roller former is the only machine on the market that allows precise and continuous adjustment of the mass strip width without interrupting the production process. Particularly for cereal and nut bars, the issue of lower density at the edges is solved by forming a wider strip, which is then compressed and pressed to the desired width on the sides.

The ROTZINGER coating machine for chocolate ensures quick mass changes when coating bars. The removable and exchangeable mass tray, along with the replaceable coating head and curtain device, allows for a mass change in the shortest possible time. To complete the efficient portfolio, ROTZINGER also offers melting and tempering systems for chocolate. "The ROTZINGER Group has many years of experience and offers a turnkey solution from the bar manufacturing process to secondary packaging with maximum efficiency along the entire line," explains Adrian Müller, Head of Product Management/Marketing.

Digital Factory Software Suite increases efficiency and quality

Visitors to the ROTZINGER Group booth at interpack can see the company's digital solutions firsthand. The Digital Factory Software Suite promises to enhance process efficiency and quality while ensuring continuous data access. Paperless production is enabled through fully digitalized quality checks and a management cockpit, which together promote continuous improvement on the shop floor. ROTZINGER also offers system integration services to support companies in gradually implementing the software. Additionally, customers can sign a maintenance contract to benefit from ongoing updates and developments of the Digital Software Suite. Service experts will be available at interpack to answer any questions regarding service support.
