Individual control solutions for cleanroom applications

For a new generation of cleanroom transfer hatches, akYtec quickly developed a control system that can be integrated rapidly and cost-effectively. The manufacturer of automation technology relies on proven hardware platforms and specifically adapts software logic and firmware to meet the specific requirements of the application. The customer, a manufacturer of cleanroom equipment, received a ready-to-use solution from akYtec without having to develop a control system from scratch.

The requirements included integrated monitoring and signal functions as well as semi-automatic operating modes. Additionally, the solution had to be designed for very limited installation space, operate reliably, and be easily scalable for small production runs.

Compact control solution with proven akYtec hardware

The solution is based on the proven akYtec hardware platform with the programmable relay PR205 and suitable expansion modules such as the PRM.24.1. All necessary system functions were consolidated into a pre-assembled unit – from controlling lighting, UV lamps, and ventilation to monitoring differential pressure and access status, as well as controlling electromagnetic locks and signal devices.

The use of proven components ensures stable system behavior and simplifies production and assembly of small series. The control unit is delivered ready for connection and requires no further configuration or wiring.

PR205 with display – control and visualization in one device

The programmable relay PR205 from akYtec combines powerful control technology with easy programming and integrated operation. It features Ethernet, RS-485, fast counter inputs up to 100 kHz, as well as analog and digital inputs and outputs. The built-in 2.4-inch color display with keypad allows local operation and visualization without an additional HMI panel. Programming is done via the free akYtec ALP software according to IEC 61131-3 (FBD and ST), supported efficiently by offline simulation, online debugging, and reusable macros.

Almost every PR model from akYtec can be combined with the PRM expansion modules, in this case with the PRM.24.1., to meet the required specifications for the control system of the cleanroom transfer box. In combination with the PR205, akYtec was able to deliver a cost-effective and ready-to-use control unit that possesses all the required functions.
