Highest purity after additive manufacturing

Increase for PowerJet Compact CNp system family

The PowerJet Compact CNp system (from left to right: Clean module, Clean AM, and Pure) is standardly equipped with an integrated treatment chamber embedded in the two feed tanks for goods up to a batch size of 600 x 400 x 300 mm for weights up to 150 kg. The recirculation system features an integrated full-flow filtration with a filter area of over 4 m² and filter units down to 0.5 μm.

The new "Clean AM" was specifically designed for post-processing in additive manufacturing.

In nearly all areas of the High Purity industry, 3D-printed components are now in use. Due to their special shapes and complex internal geometries, they require special treatment during post-processing. Therefore, LPW Reinigungssysteme GmbH has expanded its PowerJet Compact CNp system family with the "Clean AM" unit, which guarantees the highest purity after additive manufacturing.

The new module is the first fully automatic standard cleaning system with integrated powder removal and suitable drying for this specific application field. "Clean AM" is suitable for both powder removal and cleaning after subsequent processing of metallic printed parts, such as medical implants or heat exchangers.

Thus, the PowerJet Compact CNp series is now available in three versions: Module 1 "Clean" is used for final cleaning for traditional fine cleaning requirements after processing, up to pre-cleaning tasks for high purity cleanroom applications, and can be equipped with a coalescence gravity separator or a VE circulation system. Module 2 stands for the new "Clean AM". Module 3 "Pure" is designed for adaptation to a gray or cleanroom and is equipped with a connection for an in-house ultra-pure water supply — the "High Purity" module, which supplies pre-tempered ultrapure water and can be integrated into the system as a media supply or full-fledged additional rinse.

The media flows in all three module components are monitored sensorically. Furthermore, connection to an online service, remote maintenance systems, a cloud-based LPW dashboard, as well as ongoing batch-related process data recording and evaluation are possible. The system requires about 4 m² of space and, in addition to ultrasonic and cyclic nucleation (CNp) cleaning processes, also features the necessary drying (hot air or infrared vacuum).

LPW CEO Gerhard Koblenzer: "In this standard system, we have ultimately incorporated our nearly fifteen years of experience in the high purity sector with complex geometries, as well as ten years of expertise in post-processing additive manufacturing. PowerJet Compact CNp offers users not only the highest purity quality but also simplified workflows. So, high tech at its best."
