Simplification – but with lasting impact – is also at the center when numerous experts from the fields of cleanroom and pharmaceutical construction come together for the 7th VIP 3000 Symposium 2014. Under the motto "Keep it simple!" the industry will meet on September 25 and 26 at Imtech Germany's Frankfurt branch. The goal of the event: to make the future easier, discuss trends, exchange experiences, meet experts, expand knowledge – in short: create added value for all participants.

"If we plan to create something impressive in the industry, we must be open to new things – together. If everyone keeps their knowledge to themselves, progress is hardly possible," says VIP 3000 President Ralf Gengenbach. That is why the association, which includes representatives from companies, services, and universities among its roughly 40 members, brings together planners, equipment suppliers, entrepreneurs, and suppliers from the pharmaceutical industry and neighboring disciplines every two years with the symposium. The practical benefit is clearly at the center. "Requirements for cleanrooms in hospitals and pharmacies" is for example the topic of Nikolaus Ferstl, Technical Director at the University of Regensburg. A look at current and future trends is provided by Prof. Dr. Enrico Grothe from Albstadt-Sigmaringen University and Markus Hammes from Hammeskrause Architects in their lectures "Factory Planning and Trends" and "Research Buildings – Today and Future Trends."

Simplification as a perspective in pharmaceutical construction – but with high standards

A creative flash mob that surprises all outsiders with simple means allows the participants of the VIP 3000 Symposium to be surprised by new perspectives. "With complex projects like pharmaceutical new builds or conversions, there can always be controversial requirements between different factors – primarily between the influencing factors of time, costs, and quality," says Ralf Gengenbach. "We counter these three main factors with three words: 'Keep it simple!'" Sounds quite simple. But is it really possible? Especially if high standards are to be met? "We want to continue to be among the leading nations in pharmaceutical construction worldwide, and such symposia are essential for that," summarizes Ralf Gengenbach. The association "Interest Group Pharmaceutical Construction 3000" (VIP 3000 e.V.) was founded in 1995 in Esslingen. Its around 40 members include representatives from the pharmaceutical industry and academia as well as specialized planners, equipment suppliers, and vendors.
