Direct drives are the ideal solution for dynamic and precise handling and assembly tasks. They are compact, fast, and offer high positioning and repeat accuracy. IEF-Werner GmbH offers its euroLINE series for this purpose. With different carriage variants and stroke sizes, the drives can be used for various applications. Now, IEF-Werner has completely renewed the euroLINE product line. With the euroLINE 200, users receive an axis with a stroke of up to 2.7 meters and a maximum speed of five meters per second.

Direct drives are mainly used in handling and assembly technology as well as in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. Due to their accuracy, they are also used for measurement and inspection tasks. Since linear motors inherently contain few frictional components, they are also suitable for cleanrooms. IEF-Werner offers various versions of the euroLINE series, which are particularly well suited for dynamic and precise applications. The automation specialist has integrated a linear motor, a position measurement system, and a guide into the units. This provides the customer with a ready-to-install solution that requires minimal effort in design and assembly. Multiple independent carriages can also be space-efficiently mounted on a single guide or built in a cross configuration.

The new addition to the program is the euroLINE 200. With this version, applications that were not feasible with previous types can now be implemented. Its smallest stroke is 46 millimeters, and it extends in 96-millimeter steps up to a maximum of 2,736 millimeters. The version reaches a maximum speed of five meters per second. Its peak force is 1,000 newtons. The largest euroLINE version can safely handle workpieces weighing up to 80 kilograms and can absorb torques of up to 1,000 Newton-meters on the carriage. Thanks to the flexible metal band cover, the direct drive is now encapsulated. This largely prevents the ingress of dirt and the release of particles.

The smallest version remains the euroLINE 32 KLA. Equipped with a ironless linear motor and an optical, incremental position measurement system, it is suitable for fast movements with its good responsiveness and operates extremely quietly. Its compact dimensions allow installation even in tight spaces. The speed also reaches up to five meters per second, with a repeat accuracy of ± 0.003 millimeters. The peak force achieved by this unit is 132 newtons. Strokes of up to 1,662 millimeters are possible. IEF-Werner also offers the euroLINE 32 KLA as a vertically operated version with weight compensation and a stroke of up to 189 millimeters.
