A newly established cleanroom expands the offerings in module assembly and manufacturing. Within just a few months, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGY implements demanding customer projects and sets the course for further expansion of its portfolio.

Precision, accuracy, and efficiency are of fundamental importance for quality, cost-effectiveness, and competitiveness in the industrial production and assembly of individual components and modules. Driven by increasing requirements for the performance of electronic components, more and more products demand the highest standards of cleanliness and environmental conditions in manufacturing processes. Even the smallest air contaminants, incorrect ambient temperatures, or fluctuating humidity levels can negatively impact the quality of the final product and cause complex systems to fail. Therefore, especially demanding tasks can only be properly executed under cleanroom conditions.

Prompted by a short-notice inquiry from a demanding customer, the management at WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGY decided to create capacities for the assembly of complex sub-assemblies in the form of a 7 m x 7 m cleanroom. In just seven months, the cleanroom, including a 1990 mm x 720 mm laminar flow workbench, was constructed by the commissioned service provider. In January 2024, it was initially put into operation as a cleanroom-like controlled environment for the assembly of components. The facility achieved full cleanroom status in early 2024 through certification of the proven performance of the installed climate and ventilation technology. The cleanroom classes achieved are ISO 6 for the room, ISO 5 for the laminar flow box, and ISO 7 for the airlock.

With these newly created conditions, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGY offers demanding customers optimal prerequisites for the assembly of systems for the production and testing of displays and microchips, sub-assemblies for aerospace, as well as modules for scanning electron microscopes. Overall, the traditional company is expanding its portfolio of services for projects with the highest cleanliness requirements. The cleanroom and the installed components are designed so that component weights of up to 1,000 kg pose no obstacle.

The new cleanroom complements WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGY's state-of-the-art machinery and, based on many years of experience combined with contemporary innovation, enhances its expertise and capacities for highly demanding projects.

“As a successfully grown, owner-managed company, we have been pursuing a growth strategy for over 50 years that simultaneously underscores our corporate philosophy as a traditional family business and has established us as an innovative global partner,” emphasizes Sebastian Wassermann, second-generation Managing Director of Wassermann Technology GmbH in East Hesse. “With our new cleanroom, we continue to invest in the future and specifically open up new business fields and customer segments.”

In addition to the new cleanroom, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGY primarily focuses on optimizing processes around its own manufacturing. Currently, the responsible team is mainly concentrating on possibilities in the area of upstream part cleaning. While this is still partially outsourced to external cleaning service providers, WASSERMANN TECHNOLOGY aims to create the necessary conditions within this year to carry out most of the cleaning processes in-house on-site.
