CNp-System for Kyzen
At the testing center of the cleaning chemistry manufacturer Kyzen (Nashville), a CNp system from the PowerJet compact series by LPW is now installed. The Riederich-based high purity specialists have made this available to their US partner for customer trials and internal development projects, after the system and its capabilities were well received by the American industry audience at the PMTS trade fair (Cleveland).
Kyzen already offers a variety of cleaning systems in its testing center for different applications and cleaning media (aqueous or solvent-based). The cyclic nucleation (CNp) process now completes the portfolio. In recent weeks, the LPW application engineering team trained colleagues in the USA on the technology and system. Simultaneously, LPW CEO Gerhard Koblenzer provided an in-depth insight into the world of ultra-clean manufacturing processes. He reports: “Our CNp process uniquely supports cleaning tasks with fixed or variable complex geometries. Whether it’s traditional bulk parts, densely packed components, complex structures after machining, additively manufactured parts, capillaries, or components with sensitive coatings or surfaces. Often, a pure ultrasonic cleaning process is not sufficient here. Or it even causes changes or damage.”
At the new testing facility in the state of Tennessee, customers from the mentioned application fields can now access the LPW system with the following features:
– Fully automatic compact chamber cleaning system
– Batch size 600 x 400 x 300 mm
– Footprint 4 m²
– 2 tanks
– Electropolished and indirectly heated treatment chamber
– External DI rinse
– Integrated CNp/Ultrasound
– Combined hot air/vacuum/infrared drying
The machine is a module of the PowerJet compact series. Currently, there are three standard versions:
– PJ compact clean for high-quality pre-/precision cleaning
– PJ compact pure for integration into cleanroom environments for fine and ultra-fine cleaning applications
– PJ compact Clean AM for post-processing applications in additive manufacturing (residual powder removal and cleaning after secondary processing)
Additionally, an optional module is available, which can be integrated as a third loop (DI or ultra-pure water loop) into the overall system.
The PowerJet compact modules are used across various industries, especially in the high purity sector. Each can be combined with existing cleaning technologies to enhance quality. Just a few weeks ago, an LPW customer in the Netherlands, in the high vacuum technology supply chain, achieved “Grade 1-ASML” by integrating the pure module as the final cleaning step in a highly clean process chain.
“As one of the few facilities worldwide – and the only one in North America – with a cyclic nucleation system on production scale, we are uniquely positioned to solve demanding cleaning challenges,” says Jason Schwartz, Global Product Line Manager of Evolving and Growing Technologies at Kyzen. “Our collaboration with the LPW team now provides our chemists and technicians with an unprecedented platform for innovations, experiments, and results that meet the most stringent requirements.”
