The sister companies BOPLA Enclosure Systems GmbH, part of the Phoenix Mecano Group, headquartered in Bünde, and KUNDISCH GmbH & Co. KG from Villingen-Schwenningen are consolidating their expertise. Together, both companies benefit from synergies in production, procurement, and sales. Customers enjoy comprehensive service from a single source.

In electronic enclosures, input units such as membrane keypads or touch displays are crucial for the functionality of human-machine communication and thus for the acceptance of the entire device. What looks simple to the layperson is, in reality, a complex process that begins with the customer's specifications and ends with professional manufacturing.

“The bundling and better coordination of the competencies of both companies shorten processes and contribute to more targeted communication with customers,” comments Managing Director Ralf Bokämper on the merger of the two companies. “Furthermore, together we will be able to offer an even broader range of technologies and products for intelligent HMI systems. Kundisch specializes in the development and manufacture of membrane keypads and touch systems. The range of applications for these control elements extends from simple handheld devices to sophisticated medical equipment. In the field of high-quality copper keypads, the company from Villingen-Schwenningen is a technological leader. The functionalities and capabilities of membrane keypads are continuously expanded and supplemented with options such as curved surfaces, RFID transponders, or NFC tags. Kundisch relies on copper as the material for printed electronics, enabling a multitude of functions to be integrated with extremely flat components.

BOPLA is one of the internationally leading providers of application-specific enclosure solutions for measurement, control, and regulation technology, machinery and plant engineering, as well as medical and railway technology. The company, headquartered in Bünde, is also known for its custom enclosure solutions tailored to customer requirements and for an exceptionally broad product portfolio of standard products available from stock. Upon request, in addition to manufacturing and machining the enclosure, the company also handles individual finishing, integration of membrane keypads and touch displays, as well as complete assembly of the application, including testing and functional verification.
