Analytik Jena presents ICprep – a new solution for IC-ready sample preparation for the determination of halogens, AOF/EOF, and TF/TOF
Product innovation for automated sample preparation
The ICprep series introduces a new solution for sample preparation in the analysis of sum parameters such as TOC/TOF, TDS/TOT, and the separate determination of halogens fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine. This provides both laboratories with low and high sample throughput with an efficient and flexible method for compliant sample preparation via pyrohydrolysis.
The new ICprep series from Analytik Jena enables an easy and cost-effective entry into sample preparation for ion chromatography and other ion-selective detection methods, such as ISE (ion-selective electrode), photometry, or HR-CS MAS. ICprep impresses primarily with its well-thought-out technology, versatile application spectrum, and high throughput speed of Analytik Jena products.
Adaptation to individual application requirements
In conjunction with the elemental analyzers multi EA 5X00 or multi X 2500, application solutions are created that can be precisely tailored to the customer's individual needs. Laboratories with low sample throughput choose the Basic version. In the Automatic version - upgraded with the fraction collector – automated digestion for up to 100 samples in a sequence is possible. This is especially relevant for industry and contract laboratories in environmental analysis, process safety, product quality assurance, as well as research institutes and government agencies dealing with environmental impacts, recycling, and renewable energies.
Together with Analytik Jena's APU series, ICprep offers a comprehensive solution for the entire process of TOC sample preparation. From column adsorption or solid-phase extraction (SPE) for aqueous samples to pyrohydrolytic combustion, the systems ensure precision, efficiency, and reliability at every step.
The sample preparation system operates with a unique flame sensor technology that guarantees a quantitative and residue-free combustion of organic matrices. This safe, matrix-optimized combustion prevents system contamination and erroneous results. Through complete and direct combustion without prior carbon removal, TOC samples are not contaminated.
Users of the new ICprep series can therefore rely on maximum operational safety and reliable operation with fewer repetitions.
Flexible use for all sample types
Regardless of the type and amount of sample, ICprep offers outstanding flexibility. The system is designed to work with various sample types and easily adapt to different applications.
With the Multi-Matrix Sampler (MMS), both liquid and solid samples can be dosed. Switching between sample types can be performed by untrained personnel in less than five minutes. Furthermore, ICprep can be seamlessly integrated into an existing Analytik Jena system. This allows users to expand their application range without investing in additional laboratory space or equipment.
ICprep offers an extremely broad application spectrum, covering sample preparation for the determination of TOC, AOBr, AOI, AOC, and CIC-AOX, as well as TOF and TF. Samples for the separate determination of halogens (F, Cl, Br, I) and sulfur can also be easily processed with ICprep.
Norm-compliant sample preparation
With ICprep, sample combustion after pyrohydrolysis can be performed according to the following standards:
– TOC sample preparation according to DIN 38409-59 and EPA 1621
– Sample preparation for the determination of halogens (F, Cl, Br, I) and sulfur (S) according to ASTM D8150, ASTM D8247, ASTM D7359 UOP 991, EN 17813
Its versatility makes ICprep an indispensable tool for comprehensive research and analysis projects that require high matrix tolerance and throughput speed in sample preparation.
