Series-Ready 3D Printing: 1zu1scale remains true to its pioneering role and introduces new technologies and materials in the DACH region. The high-tech company invests around 2 million euros in two state-of-the-art systems and automation. This expands 1zu1scale's manufacturing capabilities to include directly black-printed components without post-processing steps and increases production capacity in 3D printing by a quarter. The specialist for small and precise plastic components also enables higher batch sizes in injection molding through the production of steel tools with a modern sinker EDM machine.

3D printing in new dimensions: 1zu1scale increases production capacity by 25 percent. As the first provider in the DACH region, the company introduces the innovative technology and high-performance materials from Farsoon to the market. Additionally, 1zu1scale expands its machine park with a large system of the latest EOS generation featuring an automated job changer – also unique in the DACH region. This nearly doubles the machine’s manufacturing output. Overall, the Dornbirn-based high-tech company increases its 3D printing production capacity by 25 percent and invests around 2 million euros.

“How the final component is manufactured depends on the application and requirements. We offer the most economically sensible solution and the right setup for scaling,” says Sales Director Sebastian Fink. The system from technology partner Farsoon now prints black plastic components in series quality for the first time. This eliminates the time-consuming and costly process of coloring. 4-fiber laser melting technology and 216 liters of build volume enable the rapid production of larger batch sizes. The cost-efficient solution creates additional opportunities for industries such as electronics, mechanical engineering, automation, and robotics.

New Brand, Clear Strategy

The specialist for small and precise plastic components accompanies its clients from idea to series production. Since April, the brand has also been reflected in the company name: 1zu1scale GmbH follows 1zu1 Prototypen GmbH & Co KG. “The change finalizes our strategic orientation. Everything remains the same for our customers,” assures CEO Thomas Kohler.

The investment in 3D printing is accompanied by expansion in toolmaking and injection molding. With a sinker EDM machine, 1zu1scale now produces, in addition to aluminum, durable and highly detailed steel tools for the first time. “This gives us greater depth in production, creates synergies, and expands our reach. We supply high-quality injection molding tools to the entire Prototal Group in Europe,” says Kohler. Cleanroom production and certification according to EN ISO 13485 complete the offering for customers in medical technology.

Pioneer for Scaling

With this market innovation, 1zu1scale consolidates its role as an industry pioneer in the DACH region and strengthens the position of the Europe-wide operating Prototal Group. “The time is ripe for rapid scaling of plastic components. 1zu1scale once again pushes the boundaries of what is possible and paves the way for the industry. All customers benefit from this – and our group,” emphasizes Jan Löfving, CEO of Prototal.
